International Airport Project: Govt to build 37 new residencies for relocated residents

Dominica: The government of Dominica to revive the country’s economy by elevating the construction of Housing projects, International airports, promoting the Agriculture sector, and enhancing Health and Wellness centers in the nation.

In the opening of Emelda James Health and Wellness center in Wesley, Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, made various significant announcements regarding various projects.

“The Construction of International Airport project would completely transform Dominica in different ways yet unimaginable; currently, the administration is in the preliminary and preparatory phase of the construction, which will lay the foundation of this magnificent project, ” PM Skerrit stated.

Furthermore, PM Skerrit added, “The impacts of the International Airport would be witnessed in Wesley.”

The government of Dominica was engaging with the public and interacted with farmers and homeowners are conversations are still ongoing. PM Skerrit stated, the response of people over relocation is overwhelming.

PM Skerrit stated, “The regime would be to build 37 new residencies for the people who have to relocate, who have been affected by the construction of the Airport.”

People who would be relocated by the construction of the International Airport will get homes in the Joe Burton area in Wesley, the government says.

Moreover, The International Airport project is the most talked about and assured initiative of the administration of Dominica, and it is going to take capital between 800 to 900 million dollars.

As per the government of Dominica, the IKAO and Eastern Caribbean Aviation Authority are included at every measure, and continuous consultations are being arranged on a constant basis.

PM Skerrit noted that the World Bank airport experts would interlock as an independent group of specialists and will review all records, including the ones coming from the American firm- Landrum and Brown that is running on the designs of the airport in one of his earlier announcements.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Dominica announced the appointment of Samuel Johnson as the CEO of International Airport Development Company. Additionally, this International Airport project is the most anticipated project for Dominica.
