New Delhi, India: The Indian Ambassador to Argentina, Dinesh Bhatia, and the Chief of the Argentine Air Force, Brigadier General Xavier Isaac, had a meeting on Tuesday. They talked about working together on Tejas Combat Aircraft and different types of helicopters made by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The Indian Embassy in Argentina tweeted about this, saying that Ambassador Dinesh Bhatia joined a delegation from HAL to meet Brigadier General Xavier Isaac and the Argentine Air Force technical team. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss collaboration on Tejas Combat Aircraft and various helicopter options made by HAL as part of the “Make in India” initiative.
In 2022, the country in South America showed interest in buying the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft for their Air Force. The External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, recognized Argentina’s interest in the Tejas fighter aircraft and emphasized how this proposal could strengthen the strategic aspect of the relationship between the two countries.
Both sides agreed to encourage visits between their Armed Forces, provide defence training, and collaborate on producing defence-related equipment together. The HAL Tejas is an Indian fighter aircraft designed for the Indian Air Force and Navy. It is a single-engine, delta-wing, light multirole fighter developed by the Aeronautical Development Agency in partnership with the Aircraft Research and Design Centre of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
Meanwhile, the External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar recently sent well wishes to the governments and people of Argentina and Jordan on their National Day. He expressed his greetings on Twitter to his counterpart Santiago Cafiero in Argentina, saying, “Warm greetings to FM Santiago Cafiero and the Government and people of Argentina on their National Day.”
Jaishankar said, “Our collaboration keeps benefiting our people and strengthening our Strategic Partnership.” It’s important to note that India and Argentina have a warm and friendly relationship. In 2022, Jaishankar visited Argentina and honoured Mahatma Gandhi at Republica de la India Street.
