Dominica Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit plans a great strategy to fight back the impacts created by COVID-19 pandemic. He declared some amendments in his speech during Anou Palay, which can spread optimism in the air.

Dominica Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit plans a great strategy to fight back the impacts created by COVID-19 pandemic. He declared some amendments in his speech during Anou Palay, which can spread optimism in the air.
On the weekly session of Anou Palay, the Prime Minister welcomed everybody with warm wishes and great enthusiasm. He advised not to forget to take the health precautions in this Christmas. He explained the seriousness of the situation.
The parliament passed amendments to bring into law some measures designed to improve the circumstances of various groups of Dominicans and approve the borrowing of funds to manage this pandemic.
Government’s plan of action follows an improvement in Tourism as well as the Business sector. Parliament also approved an amendment to the Excise Tax from which the benefit directly comes in favour of taxi operators. They will receive a 28 per cent exemption.
The government is seeking a programme to increment the capital in the Tourism sector. PM further urged to ease the burden on citizens. They also removed Value Added tax on raw material, packaging and labelling material and equipment and machinery imported for utilization in manufacturing. On the other hand, they took a step to authorize a loan from the ‘OPEC Fund’ to fund COVID-19 Emergency feedback.
Additionally, Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit also held meetings with the committees to stimulate the development in Airport construction. He insisted on celebrating this Christmas with love safeguarded by health precautions.
Prime Minister said, “I daresay we have fared well, and this Government continues the work to ensure that we can continue taking care of our people with the same compassion and consideration that we have displayed in the past.”
He asserted “Dynamic Dominica is at hand and the airport project is a big part of their development plans for ahead.”This pandemic will no longer affect anybody if leaders like Dr Roosevelt Skerrit plan such tremendous schemes to convert difficulty into an opportunity.
