Dominica confirms 95 fresh COVID cases
Dominica recorded 95 cases of the COVID-19 virus on Friday, January 7, 2022.

Roseau, Dominica: The Commonwealth of Dominica recorded 95 cases of the COVID-19 virus on Friday, January 7, 2022, taking the total toll of the active infection from the island to 702. Meanwhile, around 42 discharges have also been done on Friday.
The data was shared by the islands’ Ministry of Health and Wellness in the COVID-19 update report. Since the pandemic started in Dominica, around forty-seven individuals have lost their lives to the contagious virus.
The count of total recoveries rises to 6645, and totally confirmed infections of the mutant increase to 7394, as per the data of the health ministrys’ report.
In terms of the COVID-19 tests, till January 7, 2022, a total of 131028 individuals have been tested, out of which 32290 are the RT-PCR tests, and 99924 are the Rapid Antigen Tests.
Dominica’s vaccination data:
The report of the health ministry notes that there are 30876 individuals who are partially vaccinated, with taking one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. On the other hand, a total of 28593 Dominicans have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully inoculated.
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and the Health officials of the Caribbean island are continuously encouraging the general public to come forward and take their required jabs of the vaccine to protect themselves and their loved ones.

The Dominican government has not followed the policy of the mandate vaccination policy. The health ministry officials further asked the citizens to follow the COVID-19 health protocols and guidelines put in place, such as – wearing masks, maintaining a social distance, sanitizing frequently.
The Caribbean is the highly impacted region by the COVID-19 outbreak.
