Belize: Government of Belize Press Office releases New Norms related to Ministry of Public Utilities and Logistics. This also gave information that Cordel Hyde will act as PM in absence of Johnny Briceno.

According to the Facebook post of the Government of Belize Press Office, It is stated that The Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño met remotely in a regular session on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
Cabinet’s Approval on below-given topics
Cabinet confirmed the addition of Energy to the portfolio of the Ministry of Public Utilities and Logistics. A corrigendum will be printed in the next magazine of The Gazette to announce that the Ministry will now be known as the ‘Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy and Logistics’. This will act as a big announcement for residents of nation.
Hon. Dolores Balderamos Garica, Minister of Human Development Families and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs, renewed the Cabinet on the Caribbean Court of Justice judgment No. BZCV2014/002 The Maya Land Leaders Alliance, Toledo Alcalde Association and Others v. the Attorney General of Belize, commonly known as the Maya Land Rights Case.
Cabinet took the record of the status of the Government’s commitment under the Consent Order and agreed that a mechanism is worked out to assure progress towards acquiescence with the approval order.
Formation of an inter-ministerial committee
Cabinet approved the formation of an inter-ministerial committee including Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Health and Wellness; Hon. Jose Abelardo Mai, Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise; Hon. Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries; and Hon. Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, to evaluate plans and protocols for the reopening of the Corozal Free Zone.
Cordel Hyde will act as PM
The Prime Minister of Belize Johnny Briceno implicated Cabinet that he would be flying on personal leave from January 12 to 17, 2021. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Cordel Hyde will act as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economic Development.
