Jammu and Kashmir, India: Amjad Taha, a British-Bahraini social media influencer, teased his admirers in a video he released on social media by suggesting that the G20 will be held in Kashmir, not Switzerland or Austria.
Ahead of the May 22–24 G20 summit in Srinagar, an Arab influencer called Kashmir’s natural beauty a “paradise on Earth,” asserting that it has defended the planet and might hold the key to addressing climate change.
“This is India, and this is Kashmir, where the G20 will be held, not Switzerland or Austria. It’s nicknamed the ‘paradise on Earth,’ a region that has protected the Earth and may hold the key to reversing climate change, Amjad Taha tweeted on Saturday, adding, “Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians can all be found coexisting peacefully in Kashmir, enjoying their unique territory and making contributions to global creativity and future growth.”
Amir Khusrau, a famous poet, once said, “Agar Firdaus bar roo-e zameen ast, Hameen ast-o hameen ast-o hameen ast, and those words still hold true today despite the turmoil and the violence. If heaven exists on Earth, it is right here.”
The third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting is slated to take place in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, from May 22 to 24, while India is the G20 presidency.
Yo Yo Honey Singh, a Punjabi artist, previously voiced his excitement about Jammu and Kashmir’s scenic region preparing to host the renowned G20 gathering for the first time. Honey Singh briefed his followers about the Summit in a video message that was uploaded to Twitter.
“I found out that the G20 Summit is taking place this time in Kashmir and is also taking place in other places of India… Goa and some other places. I am quite happy. I’m currently in America. I’ll bring all of my fans from America, India, and wherever else with me when I perform for my promo tour for Honey 3.0 and ask them to support Kashmir for the G20 meeting,” he remarked.
“Kashmir is a wonderful place. I visited there when I was a young child a long time ago. I want to return there; I won’t this time, but I’ll visit Kashmir the next time. So I’m asking my followers to support G20 India by going there,” he added.
On Saturday, on the Dal Lake waters, the CRPF’s Water Wing and Quick Action Team (QAT) together conducted a simulated drill. Near preparation for the impending G20 Summit, CRPF Commandos also carried out a unique practice on Friday near Dal Lake.
Beginning on December 1, 2022, India will preside over the G20 organisation for one year.
Tourism players in Kashmir believe that the G20 meeting can attract investors and tourists from across the globe.
The tourism industry has played a crucial role in the development of the Union Territory. However, years of instability have impacted the tourism industry, leading to a decline in the number of visitors.
