Trinidad and Tobago: Four persons were arrested and two firearms seized by officers during ongoing anti-crime exercises across the North Eastern and Eastern Divisions.

Trinidad and Tobago: Four persons were arrested and two firearms seized by officers during ongoing anti-crime exercises across the North Eastern and Eastern Divisions.
An exercise was conducted between 5 am and 9 am on Tuesday, 27th September 2022, in the Santa Cruz district by officers of the North Eastern Division Coastal Unit, the Santa Cruz Criminal Investigations Department and the Santa Cruz Police Station.
During the exercise, an extensive search at the Santa Cruz home of a 32-year-old man. The search resulted in one Glock pistol loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition discovered on the premises. The man in the house at the time of the search was arrested in connection with the find.
The same party of officers also held a 19-year-old of the district in connection with shooting offences.
Officers then proceeded to Jennings Street, where they observed a silver Toyota Axio motor vehicle bearing false registration plates. An intitial investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Piarco district.
Investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, officers of the Eastern Division Task Force, Area North, conducted a road check exercise in the Sangre Grande district between 9:30 am and 3 pm yesterday, during which they arrested two persons, a 40-year-old and 41-year-old both of Sangre Grande, for possession of quantities of cocaine.
And, in the Manzanilla district, officers of the Police Post, acting on information, proceeded to a bushy area off Nariva Road, where they conducted a search which resulted in a homemade shotgun and one 12-gauge cartridge being found.
Investigations are ongoing.
