Trinidad and Tobago: CIRC shares glimpse of behind-the-scenes at the Savannah Park

Trinidad and Tobago: Carnival Institute of Trinidad and Tobago, also regarded as The Carnival Institute and Regional Carnival (CIRC), shares a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes at Savannah Park. “Hey, Folks! It’s about to go down! A celebration of sweet steelpan,” the social media post by the Carnival Institute read.

It furthermore noted that “the Carnival Institute and Regional Carnival (CIRC) takes the people of Trinidad and Tobago behind the scenes at the Savannah Party taking place at the Queen’s Park Savannah.”

According to the post by the authority, this year, Pantrinbago celebrates its Diamond Anniversary, 60 Years of Panorama (1963-2023).

“We are giving you a taste of what’s taking place on The Drag, in the Grand Stands, North Stand and on the stage as the battle of the bands, Medium and Large, heats up. This promises to be an enjoyable evening for all. More to come later. Will you be there?” the Carnival Institute mentioned while concluding the post.

Queen Park Savannah (QPS) is a park in the Port of Spain of Trinidad and Tobago. The park is locally known as “the Savannah”. It is regarded as the most significant open space in the Port of Spain. The area of the park is about 260 acres (110 ha) of level land, the distance around the perimeter is approximately 2.2 miles (3.5 km).

The Savannah is a popular destination in Trinidad and Tobago, known to host several massively crowded parties, events and carnivals.

Earlier this week, John Cupid Carnival Village of the National Carnival Commission was opened at the Queen’s Park Savannah. The Carnival Village was opened over the weekend. The village will be offering traditional vibes and will provide the best local entertainment, cuisine as well as art and crafts. As per the Commission, the park will allow special tour days for primary and secondary schoolchildren from within the area. Along with this, the park will also generate employment opportunities.
