Saint Lucia: DPM Ernest Hilaire hails Julien Alfred for her performance at Texas Invitational

Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, has felt delightful as he shared a post praising Julien Alfred, a proud athlete of the nation.

The shared post has informed the general public that Alfred’s performance at the women’s 100-meter race at the Texas Invitational was her fastest.

Deputy PM Hilaire shared a post by Terry Finisterre, Communications Officer at Youth Economy Agency Saint Lucia, informing that 10.95 metres won the women’s 100m at the Texas Invitational for Julien Alfred (Saint Lucia × Texas).

“With a legal wind (+1.8 m/s), it’s the fastest performance by a collegiate woman this year and 5th fastest in the world,” the post added.

Many people took it to the post’s comment section and congratulated the athlete for her outstanding performances in different tournaments and sporting events. One of the users from Saint Lucia named Bob Mangal mentioned, “Congratulations. Keep on climbing to the MAX!!”

Another user named Anthony Alexander wrote, “St. Lucia big up our very own from Castries South we love you bad. Congratulations from all of us…” Yet the third user, named Maitland Germain, commented, “That’s awesome! Congratulations!”

As an athlete, Alfred has always felt proud and has gathered praise from the leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire. Nearly a month ago, Deputy PM took to social media and congratulated the athlete for emerging as a champion in the 60 metres in 6.94 seconds. He praised the athlete and stated that her outstanding performance at the NCAA has had the nation proud.

He stated, “She never failed to make Saint Lucia proud of her.” The new record was set by Julien Alfred to PB, NR, NCAA record, and World Lead, and she was the second fastest time ever to win NCAA gold in the women’s 60m at the NCAA Championships.

Ernest Hilaire’s social media post read, “Congratulations to our very own Julien Alfred on her outstanding performances at the NCAA and emerging as champion in the 60 metres in 6.94s.”
