New Delhi, India: PNC Menon, an entrepreneur of Indian origin and founder of the Sobha Group, gave OMR 9.6 million over ten years to construct 300 homes for orphans and low-income families in Oman, according to the Times of Oman. The three most crucial aspects of one’s life, according to Menon, are food, shelter, and education.

“Since housing is the most crucial component for any family, I reasoned that we should focus entirely on it. So we decided to build 300 homes over a ten-year period. I thought it should be five instead of ten years,” he stated while interacting with reporters.

For the ‘SAS’ project idea, Al Rahma Association for Motherhood and Child Welfare and ‘Sobha Group’ inked a contract of understanding. Sana Abdul Rahman Al Khanjari, the chairwoman of the Al Rahma Association, and the board of directors of Menon signed the MoU, according to the Times of Oman.

The businessman of Indian descent claimed that he selected Oman because the nation formed him. He added, “I spent my entire formative years here. I brought $7 to this place. Oman created the rest of the items because of Oman. Additionally, I am an Omani citizen. Here, I obtained my citizenship.”

According to the Times of Oman, the MoU calls for the construction of separate houses for people who will be given land, those who possess undeveloped property, and those who own uninhabitable homes or integrated housing complexes for the target population if they have landed.

The Minister of Social Development, Dr Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, presided over the MoU signing ceremony. According to the agreement, each home would have a building size of 200 square metres and cost no more than OMR 35,000 to construct.
