Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew started his Easter Monday with a morning walk with his Brotherhood group of the St. Peter’s Anglican Church. 

The leader of the nation while taking out some time from his busy schedule took an initiative and shared the benefits of the morning walk in order to promote healthy living among the citizens of the nation.

 PM Drew took to his official Facebook account and shared glimpses of his walk with a caption “This morning I completed my 10th anniversary walk with the Brotherhood group of the St. Peter’s Anglican Church. Very healthy way to start Easter Monday.”

During his walk, several citizens accompanied him and held conversations on the advantages of engaging in physical activity to foster health and fitness. On the completion of his 10-years of consistent morning walk, he shed light on the importance of health for physical, mental and social well-being.

PM Terrance Drew as the Minister of Health and the Prime Minister is continuously making efforts in order to promote healthy lifestyles among the citizens of the nation. Sharing the pictures of his morning walk reflects his unwavering commitment and dedication towards enhancing and instilling good and healthy habits among the netizens.

The Ministry of Health of St Kitts and Nevis has also made significant steps in improving the healthcare system. One of the major examples includes upgrades and modern innovations at the JNF Hospital

The hospital will have the first-ever Kidney Transplant Program which showcases the achievements and transformations that the island nation has accomplished over the years. Along with that, the hospital will also have one of the best specialists ever in the history of the hospital. The specialists include endocrinologists, neurologists, 4 Internists, 2 Paediatricians, 3 Anaesthesiologists, 3 surgeons, 4 gynaecologists, 7 radiographers and Psychologists reinstated to strengthen mental health care. 

Not only this, the island nation has added several medical equipment in order to provide access to earlier and best possible treatment with the upgraded and modern machines. The machines include New Anaesthesiology machines, new fluoroscopy machines, highly advanced ultrasound machines, new medicine cabinets, new CT Scan machines, the highest number of dialysis machines and an Electroencephalogram (EEG) machine to test the brain.

Recently, Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew also made his visit to the hyperbaric chamber which is located at the Industrial Site, in Basseterre. The chamber will have a crucial role in facing serious health problems including poor circulation, diabetic complications and ulcerated feet. 

These chambers will also help to treat several health conditions like carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression sickness, radiation injury and gas gangrene. 

PM Terrance Drew has also shared his vision of elevating the health sector of St Kitts and Nevis to greater heights and ensuring the safety and healthy living of all its citizens.
