PAM & CCM launches joint manifesto “Moving Our People Forward” on July 26 in St Kitts and Nevis

St Kitts and Nevis: People’s Action Movement (PAM) and Concerned Citizen’s Movement (CCM) launched ONE Movement Manifesto, “Moving Our People Forward”, on the evening of Nomination Day (July 26, 2022). The Manifesto was launched in Green Tree Lawns, Old Road, Constituency 4, St Kitts. During the Manifesto, PAM leader – Shawn K Richards stated that if PAM & CCM are elected, they will pave the path to make St Kitts and Nevis a Republic. He highlighted, “We will move towards a Republic with a Head of State coming from St. Kitts & Nevis to replace Queen Elizabeth II.”

Manifesto 2022 was youth-centric, and while presenting the Manifesto, the political parties focused on 11 pillars which will enhance the future of the youth of St Kitts and Nevis. Some of the pillars on which it was laid were: Creating Jobs, War on Poverty, Caring for People, National Youth Agenda, Boosting Tourism, Enhancing Food Security, and more.

PAM assured the general public that it would launch a $100 Million-Dollar “Dream Fund”, which will power the entrepreneurs and small business owners. This incubation and acceleration program will provide financial assistance up to ECD 200,000. The political party leaders also promised to provide jobs to more than 5,000 youth under the “Job Now” initiative.

Besides this, the Manifesto of PAM and CCM also assured that in the next five years, the government would provide around 3,000 housing units to deserving candidates under the “Housing Revolution” programme.

Manifesto was launched in the presence of all the political leaders of PAM and CCM. Leader of PAM – Shawn Richards outlined that manifesto content will emphasize the people. “We have canvassed a manifesto that we believe the people of this country want to see. Therefore, the Manifesto that we present is a manifesto that represents the dreams and aspirations of the youth of this country.”

Premier of Nevis and leader of the Concerned Citizen’s Movement – Mark Brantley, participated in the Manifesto after successfully filling the nomination in Nevis. Premier Brantley promised the supporters of PAM and CCM to enhance their lifestyle and future.

He was quoted as, “I am saying to you ignore the noise. They will say almost anything at this point. The People’s Action Movement and the Concerned Citizens Movement are strong, and together we will form the next government of St Kitts and Nevis.”

The twin-island Federation will see general elections on August 5, 2022 (Friday).
