NIA asks for information of accused involved in India HC in UK vandalising

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been searching for the individuals involved in the recent attack on the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom on June 14, 2023 (Wednesday).

New Delhi, India: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), a task force of India, has announced that it has been searching for the individuals involved in the recent attack on the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom on June 14, 2023 (Wednesday).

A lookout notice has been released by NIA, along with the pictures of 45 people who are accused of being responsible for the disrespectful act that took place in London back in March 2023. The people are blamed for vandalising the High Commission and insulting the Indian National Tricolour Flag.

The update regarding the same has been shared by NIA through Twitter. The tweet by the investigation agency read, “REQUEST FOR IDENTIFICATION/INFORMATION on 19.03.23 these persons were involved in an attack on the High Commission of India, London. They caused grievous injury and disrespected the Indian National Flag. If anyone has any information about them, please Whatsapp/DM @+917290009373 (sic).”

Along with this, on June 12 (Monday) National Investigation Agency of India unveiled video footage of more than two (2) hours to the public. The CCTV footage showed the accused trying to vandalise the building of the High Commission in London, United Kingdom. While sharing the video, NIA appealed to the general public to come forward and provide any possible information about those anti-national elements who were seen in the video.

NIA has assured that the details of the information provided will be a secret. The Agency has also released CCTV footage of the attackers and provided a WhatsApp number, seeking information about the vandalisers.

The video released by NIA showed the accused climbing on the balcony of the Indian High Commission in the UK, pulling the Indian flag down. The video clip further showed another man reaching the balcony and hurting the national flag of India.

On the same day (March 19), the Indian community gathered in front of the Indian High Commission in London to protest against the “disrespectful act” by Khalistan supporters. Besides this, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan and the British government demanded action against the perpetrators involved in vandalising.

The Indian community in Britain has outpoured support after this desecration of the Indian Flag.
