Jamaica: Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness extended his condolences to political elder Cecile Roy July.

Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness stated, “It saddens him to learn of the passing of an outstanding servant and political elder, Cecile Roy July.”

Furthermore, PM Holness stated that Cecil was an exemplary Jamaican whose life was devoted to giving distinguished service to his nation both in politics and the legal profession.

In 1980 Cecil Roy July created history, becoming the first Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate to win the St. Elizabeth South-Eastern Parliamentary seat.

Additionally, Cecil Roy July’s work as a Member of Parliament touched many lives, and Jamaica is the grateful receiver of his contribution.

Cecil was also a noted attorney who was a force to be reckoned with in the Court. Those who knew him well defined him as a man of true integrity.

On behalf of the administration of Jamaica, Prime Minister Andrew Holness extended his condolences to the loved ones and friends of Cecil Roy July. May his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on him.
