Jamaica: PM Andrew Holness shares update on New Social Housing Programme ahead of Christmas

Jamaica: The Prime Minister of Jamaica – Andrew Holness, shared updates on the New Social Housing Programme ahead of Christmas 2022. Prime Minister Holness, while sharing an update on the recent handover ceremony, stated that this home is “a gift of a brand-new home for Christmas!”

According to the post by PM Andrew Holness on Friday, Stacy- Ann Stevens, a resident in the constituency of Manchester Central, became the proud recipient of the keys to her brand-new home built through the New Social Housing Programme.

“Her signing of the social contract indicates her commitment to taking care of the property and being an upstanding citizen within her community. She resides in the constituency of Manchester Central, represented by MP Rhoda Crawford,” the post by Prime Minister Holness stated.

On the same day, PM Holness handed the keys to the house to Naderia Wood. Prime Minister informed that many Jamaicans live in less-than-ideal circumstances, and it is the goal of the government to reach and transform the lives of those Jamaicans; so that they can get the pleasure of a suitable home.

Naderia received a lovely 3-bedroom home inclusive of a living room, bathroom and kitchen through the New Social Housing Programme. She resides in the constituency of Manchester Central, represented by MP Rhoda Crawford, as per the post by the PM.

“My dreams have come true; I am officially a homeowner!” – Naderia Wood, the recipient from NSHP, Manchester Central, stated.

Apart from providing a safe and secure home to the Jamaicans, the government of Jamaica has also asked the people to take care of themselves and their loved ones. The post read, “During this season and onwards, we’re encouraging all Jamaicans to be extra careful on our roads. Enjoy the season’s festivities or day-to-day activities, safely, and accident-free.”

It concluded, “Your safety and that of others is a #1 priority.”
