Guyana: The Ministry of Labour of the Republic of Guyana has informed that two hundred and fourteen (214) residents of Linden, Region Ten, were certified in twelve vocational and technical programmes provided by the Board of Industrial Training (BIT) on Friday, December 9, 2022, during a graduation ceremony at Lichas Hall.

Heavy-Duty Equipment Operation, Motor Vehicle Repairs, Welding and Fabrication, Electrical Installation, Joinery, A\C Repairs and Refrigeration, Small Engine Repairs, Auto Electrician, Garment Construction, Cake Decoration, Agro-processing and Cosmetology were among the skills taught to the graduates.

Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton, Board of Industrial Training, Director; Michael Turner; Chief Executive Officer, Richard Maughn; Human Resource Officer, Melinda Kelly, Senior Technical Officer; Leon Greaves, Technical Officer with responsibility for Region Ten, Tenesha Dennis; Linden Technical Institute, Principal, Hector Anthony and other officials bear witness to the ceremony.

On Friday, December 9, 2022, several Royal Women Social Group program members met with Minister of Labour Joseph Hamilton to discuss the group’s past and future initiatives, including the possibility of forming a relationship with the ministry to advance its objective.

The Minister met with the group members during his visit in Linden, Region Ten.
