Dominica Prez Charles Savarin meets CSG Patricia Scotland during his visit to UK

President of Dominica – Charles Savarin, met with the Commonwealth General Secretary Patricia Scotland during his visit to the UK to attend King Charles III Coronation.

Roseau, Dominica: President of the Commonwealth of Dominica – Charles Savarin, met with the Commonwealth General Secretary Patricia Scotland during his visit to the United Kingdom to attend King Charles III Coronation. The event was held on May 6, 2023 (Saturday) at Westminster Abbey.

CSG Patricia Scotland felt delighted after meeting the Dominican President, as the nation holds a special place in her heart because she hails from the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Commonwealth General Secretary took the news to her official Twitter account and expressed pleasure. She stated, “Wonderful to meet with the President of #Dominica, Charles Savarin, this evening.”

Her tweet further informed the public that both leaders had a fruitful discussion on various major topics, which covered the youth of Dominica. While shedding light on the topics, the post outlined that CSG Patricia Scotland and President Charles Savarin had a conversation about the economy, Artificial Intelligent and scholarships for the youngsters in the region.

“The President and I had valuable discussions about the economy and the impacts of AI, the Connectivity Agenda and opportunities for scholarships around the Commonwealth,” the social media post stated.

Along with the Dominican President Savarin, CSG Scotland also met with other Caribbean as well as Commonwealth leaders. She felt delighted after meeting with world leaders and mentioned that she had a productive interaction with all.

In addition to this, Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Grenada – Dickon Mitchell. CSG mentioned, “It was a pleasure to welcome the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, to Marlborough House yesterday. We discussed today’s Commonwealth Leaders event, the Coronation, and Commonwealth assistance to Grenada and other Small States in the Caribbean region.”

President Charles Savarin reached the United Kingdom on May 5 which his spouse Clara Savarin. After reaching, President Savarin met in Marlborough House with King Charles III to welcome him as the new Commonwealth Head ahead of the Coronation. He was accompanied by all the Commonwealth leaders, and they discussed areas of mutual interest, including young people’s empowerment, as 2023 is the ‘Year of Youth’.
