Crime in Jamaica: Gunmen shot dead two men in Islington

Another incident of shooting has been reported in the Caribbean island of Jamaica. Two men were shot dead by gunmen in the quiet rural community of Moore Hall in Islington, St Mary. 

Kingston, Jamaica: Another incident of shooting has been reported in the Caribbean island of Jamaica. Two men were shot dead by gunmen in the quiet rural community of Moore Hall in Islington, St Mary. 

The incident took place on Sunday morning. The deceased have been identified as – a 35-year-old – Marvin Collins and 34-year-old – Peter Findley; both were residents of Waterford, Portmore in St Catherine. 

What happened to Collins and Findley:

The reports of the Port Maria police states that on Sunday at around 12:30 am, a motor vehicle was boarded by Collins and Findley along with four other individuals. 

When the vehicle was about to leave from Moore Hall, two men approached on the vehicles’ right side and opened gunfire, hitting Collins and Findley, who both occupied the front seats, the report of the police officials further notes.

wounds to the head and upper body, and both of them were immediately taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The motive of the gunmen was clear and cut, that is, to shoot Collins and Findley, as the remaining individuals did not obtain any injury and are safe. 

The police has started their investigation and are looking for the killers. Apart from this, no additional information has been shared by the police authorities.   

There is a steady increase in such shooting and murder cases on the island, for which the Jamaican government a few days back announced a state of emergency in the regions of Western Parishes and sections of the Corporate Area, which came into effect from Sunday.
