COVID in Trinidad & Tobago: 456 new cases, 23 deaths confirmed in past 24 hrs

Trinidad and Tobago recorded a total of 456 new cases of the COVID-19 virus, while 23 individuals scummed to the contagious virus on December 22, 2021.

Trinidad and Tobago recorded a total of 456 new cases of the COVID-19 virus, while 23 individuals scummed to the contagious virus on December 22, 2021, taking the toll of the active infections to 15,650, as per the data shared by the Ministry of Health in its report.

In total, 81 individuals recovered from the mutant on December 22, the report adds.

With these additional deaths confirmed, the total death rate in Trinidad and Tobago rises to 2,662. Around 530 patients are in the hospital facilities as of December 22, 2021.

The health ministry’s report further notes that till now, a total of 68,740 individuals have been recovered and discharged from the deadly virus.

In total, 206 patients are in the step-down facilities, 31 patients are in the state quarantine facilities, and a total of 14,458 individuals are the ones who have isolated themselves at their respective homes.

has recorded 87,052 cases of the COVID0-19 virus.

According to the vaccination data, a total of 658,113 individuals are the ones who are vaccinated by taking atleast one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In total, 662,870 individuals have taken their required jabs of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully inoculated against the contagious COVID-19.

The data further reveals that 488,616 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far at the islands’ health facilities, out of which 210,784 were conducted at the private facilities, while the remaining ones were conducted by the healthcare workers at the public facilities.

Out of the deaths reported, 7 were elderly males, seven elderly females, six middle-aged males and three middle-aged females.

The Ministry of Health further urged the general public to abide by the COVID-19 health protocols established by the government in order to curb the transmission of the virus and to get themselves vaccinated as soon as possible.
