Corpse of woman discovered with multiple stab wounds in Manzanilla

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The corpse of a woman was discovered with multiple stab wounds in Manzanilla on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

Notably, the deceased was recognised as 57-year-old Rachel Noel of Walke Street, Sangre Grande. As per the reports, at around 10:50 am, a contractor observed Noel’s body on the shoreline while carrying out road works along the Manzanilla Mayaro Road.

It is to be noted that in due course of time, he made a report to the police command centre and a party of officers from the Manzanilla Police Station responded and examined the body with various stab wounds to the neck and both hands.

A district medical officer also visited the crime scene; he reviewed the body and ordered its removal to the Sangre Grande Hospital.

A 57-year-old lady was last seen alive on Friday, December 1, 2023, when she and her common-law husband, Wayne River, allegedly got into an argument over money and left Eiting’s bar on Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande.

It is to be added in the remarks of the River that she immediately went to the Sangre Grande police station to file a case of her missing later that day.

On her report, officials initiated their investigation regarding the matter. People are expected to cooperate with the police officers.

Additionally, it is to be discovered that a total of 48 females, including five minors, were brutally murdered for the year thus far.

The investigating department has reported a case of the last female who was murdered, 25-year-old Liliannyis Vera Gonzalez of Saltmine Trace in Siparia.

Notably, she was found to be brutally chopped to death at the side of the roadway in San Fernando on Monday, November 06, 2023.

Such stances of cases raise concern for the safety of citizens and the nation at large. Many people expressed their points of view regarding the matter.

One has commented, “I really don’t know what’s happening to our country anymore, but with this crime, I don’t feel like Christmas can’t understand how ppl are just going about their lives normal shopping, decorating and planning and blood is being spilt all over…we don’t know who can be next…am fed up of saying condolences much-murdered ppl to much going missing.”
