Antigua and Barbuda: Cancer Center is all set to start its operations in Antigua as the deal for this has been finalized. A surgeon from the country, Dr. Sir Joseph “Joey” John, has confirmed this.

Considerably, last year, due to financial difficulties, the Cancer Center Eastern Caribbean was closed, and it still is now. However, the confirmation by the Government about agreeing to sell it has raised hope.

On Queen Elizabeth Highway, there is a medical facility available which was forced to shut its door last year(2023) in April. This caused a major inconvenience to many patients and made them seek radiotherapy treatment from Abroad.

Fortunately, now this will again start its operation on which one of the doctors from the region, Dr John, presented the satisfaction of the acquisition of a healthcare facility. Such satisfaction is the result of the confirmed deal.

Additionally, he even mentioned that he is expecting the funds to be transferred in just seven days. This will provide aid in taking forward the workings immediately so it can benefit the population of Antigua.

This initiative by the Prime Minister Gaston Brown proved his dedication towards the betterment of the country and the people. The health sector in every country has a major role in fostering a healthy life among the citizens.

In the coming month, the operations which were previously closed will come into the state of work again and will mark an addition in the achievement towards the sustainable development of the country.

Significantly, Dr John has also outlined the quality of treatment which will be provided at the medical centre. In this connection, he added that he has planned to introduce new cancer treatment at the centre.

He also added that this will benefit not only the local populace but also will be beneficial for international patients.
